Designing a website or application consists of a number of important steps. The very first step in UX optimization is creating a sitemap. A sitemap clearly displays all pages and files of a website. We can classify a sitemap as simple to very complex depending on the nature and complexity of a project. We can then convert a sitemap into a user flow diagram. This allows us to see exactly what steps a user needs to take to access certain information. Very useful, because it allows us to immediately see where the bottlenecks - and therefore areas for improvement - of the UX design are.

Don't confuse UX design with UI design. UI design stands for user interface design , the graphically 'beautiful' picture that is overlaid on the UX design and that the user sees. With the UI design you can incorporate the UX design into your corporate identity.
